After defeating Johann Chua, who was born in Bacolod, Cavite’s Jundel Mazon was able to win the 1st Mayor Albee Benitez Masskara Billiards Tournament and take home the title.
Jundel Mazon was the champion of the 2010 Guinness World Series of Pool 10-Ball Challenge. The tournament was held in SM City here in Cavite on Thursday night.
The 46-year-old Jundel Mazon dominated the tournament of 128 players, which included Filipino superstars Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante as well as cue artists from Indonesia and Japan.

He triumphed over Chua in the championship match with a score of 9-5, which enabled him to take home the cash prize of PHP350,000, a trophy, a gold medal, and a gift pack from Mega Sports World.
In the 2017 All Japan 10-Ball Championship, which Chua won by defeating Jundel Mazon in the finals to take home the title, the runner-up prize was one hundred thousand Philippine pesos (PHP100,000). Chua was awarded this prize.

In the semifinals, Chua overcame Bustamante by a narrow margin, while Jundel Mazon prevailed against Rodrigo Geronimo, who will compete in the 2021 US Open Pool Championship.
After coming in third and fourth, respectively, Bustamante and Geronimo were each awarded PHP50,000 for their efforts.
Others who placed in the top eight and were awarded PHP15,000 apiece include Dean Mark Castronuevo, Bonnie Penticase, Jericho Baares, and Jolo Aspuria.
Reyes was eliminated on the fourth day of the tournament after losing to the 15-year-old sensation AJ Manas, who also triumphed in the best of 32 over the seasoned competitor Warren Kiamco.
